JP Energies teaches two different types of Reiki healing. The first being Traditional Usui Reiki Ryoho and Karuna Ki Reiki. It is advised that all students take Usui Reiki and master those concepts before moving on Karuna Ki Reiki. Reiki Ryoho, Sensei Usui’s Reiki that started this modality of energy healing on grand scale is widely considered the foundation and should still be used as a safe and encouraging place for all student to learn and explore Reiki energy and healing. Karuna Ki was created on principles and deeper understanding of karma, compassionate energy and cosmic forces by Kathleen Milner in the 1990s. This course is pre William Rand and is said to have inspired his current version. No one Reiki is better than the other. They are just different forms of energy healing under the umbrella of Reiki. Open to all students regardless of their previous certifications or linage! All are welcome. Karuna Ki course will have an interview/application process before attending.
Usui Reiki Ryoho
Traditional Reiki- It is advised that you start with Traditional Usui Reiki education an this where it Reiki healing started. Sensei Usui was the one who brought Reiki to the world and created a fool proof way of teaching and spreading Reiki to any one regardless of creed or nationality. By learning the fundamentals of Reiki as Usui taught it, including the 5 principles, traditional hand placements for self healing and healing of others you can expand to what is your true nature and talents in Reiki.
All branches of Reiki came from these teaching. By starting with a firm foundation you branch off to your innate skills knowing you firmly understand the principles of Usui’s Reiki. This foundational Reiki helps you learn how to heal yourself first, which is where we all should start in our healing journey.
Reiki Level 1:
First Degree - Shoden
Reiki Level 1 allows the student to harness the energy of Reiki through the traditional practice of Reiju (Ray-joo) or attunement that is passed from Reiki Master to student. This class allows you access Reiki healing that will last a lifetime! You will be able to help your family, friends, pets, and more after taking this class. The focus of Shoden is to heal the self first, then family and friends if desired.

Reiki Level 2: Second Degree - Okuden
The focus of Okuden is to learn how to be a Professional Reiki Practitioner and learn the first three symbols of Traditional Ryoho Reiki. One can open their own practice and treat others within the rules and regulations of the state and county they live in. The first three traditional Reiki Ususi symbols allow you to increase power of Reiki energy, promote mental and emotional balance, as well as send Reiki energy to the past or future for healing needs.

Reiki Level 3: Third Degree - Shinpinden
Reiki Master Teacher is focused on living your life as Reiki Master, committing to the 5 principles, and setting your life on a path of balance and peace. One can then choose to attune others to Reiki and understand the Master Symbol. This class is taught at once instead of being separated as some Reiki Masters prefer to do.

Karuna Ki Reiki
Created by Master Kathleen Milner and Marcy miller. This course can be taken after mastering, at least the first three levels of Usui Reiki. Karuna Ki Reiki has a more karmic focus, understanding compassionate love energy and heavy on symbols. Learning to understand past and present life healing in a possibly deeper level providing more insight and clarity on universal healing. This course is not more powerful that Usui Reiki, it is just a different approach that resonates with particular individuals. Karuna Ki means “The Way of the Compassionate Energy.” In this course you will learn the multiple levels of healing with compassion and comic and karmic wisdom. If you enjoy using the Usui’s symbols and the loving compassion of practicing Reiki you will likely love taking this course. A interview/application process will be conducted before being allowed to take this course.
Karuna Ki Master Teacher Level
Karuna is a Sanskrit word translating to unconditional love, spiritual evolution, and compassion for all. Ki translates to energy. When created in 1995 the focus was on harnessing the higher vibrations of universal energy healing and having those energies be brought into easily accessible symbols to be used. This Reiki course is heavy in symbols and symbol understanding, which allows the student to better understand the slight fluctuations in Reiki energy that they may be feeling while doing energy healing on themselves or others. The symbols used in this type of Reiki are more specific to the healing needs of the individual receiving Reiki, which some believe helps to heal the root of the issue more quickly.
